甲狀腺疾病是第二常見的內分泌疾病，普遍發生於女性身上，其中包括甲狀腺功能亢進症、甲狀腺功能減退症、甲狀腺囊腫和甲狀腺結節。甲狀腺疾病對患者的情緒和社交帶來極大困擾，影響其生活質量，亦為社會帶來重大的醫療開支。香港中文大學香港中西醫結合醫學研究所聯同香港中西醫結合醫學會中西醫醫學平台舉辦是次研討會，盼望能匯聚此範疇的西醫和中醫師，分享現時最新的診斷和治療方法，交流近期研究成果及探討如何以中西醫結合治療的模式提供臨床服務。

Thyroid diseases are the second most common endocrine disorders, which include hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, goiter and thyroid nodules that may accompany the above diseases. Thyroid diseases have higher prevalence in women and can affect patients psychologically, socially and their quality of life, resulting in heavy medical burden to the society. In light of this, Hong Kong Institute of Integrative Medicine (HKIIM), CUHK and Integrative Joint Organization Platform (IJOP), HKAIM have jointly organized this symposium, bringing together Western medicine clinicians, Chinese medicine practitioners in this field, to share the latest development of the diagnostic treatment methods of thyroid diseases. It is a golden opportunity to get updated the most recent research findings, as well as the prospect on the practicalities of an integrative model for management of these disorders.
